Car Electronics Installations And More On My Own Car

How’s it goin’ my friends, it’s Gatlin here once again from Carphonix Car Audio.

And I wanna tell you a little something about me.

Something you might not know.

Now, I don’t tell a lot of people this, but the truth is…

I like cars.

I know, I know. Didn’t see that one coming, did ya?

Hah!

Anyway, one of the coolest things about running a car electronics installations shop is all the different cars I get to see every day. From the most practical to the most exotic, from high performance machines to classic beauties, from 18-wheelers to golf carts I’ve seen it all.

And you know what? Each job is fun in its own way.

But none of them are as fulfilling as the work I do on my own cars.

That’s right, your pal Gatlin works all day on your car, then he spends the evening working on his own cars!

Maybe I need a new hobby. Oh well.

In this one, I’ll show you my lovely, my pride and joy, my 1986 300ZX Turbo.

I’ve had this car a long time, and I’ve put a lot of work into it.

I hope you enjoy watching this one as much as I enjoyed making it.

A Full Car Audio Systems Install On A Porsche

Hello hello hello my internet homies, guys and gals, it’s your old buddy Gatlin here from Carphonix!

And boy oh boy do we gots something for ya today.

What is it?

A bright, beautiful, yellow 2008 Porsche Cayman S.

Yep, that’s right! Big Daddy Gatlin is crimpin’ in a Porsche!

This one was a fun project to work on. We got to do a full car audio installation on this bad boy.

Here’s a list of just a few of the parts we used:
• A JL Audio RD 900/5 amp
• A custom built amp rack
• A pair of C5 tweeters in the dash
• A pair of C5 door speakers
• A pair of C5 rear speakers
• A pair of 8” Pinoeer woofers in the doors

You’ll see all that, and more, in this video series.

Yep, you heard me right – this is a video series!

This was such a big project that it took us three videos to complete.

Well, that, and people kept stopping by to interrupt us. In the first one, you’ll see Craig from Bonsai Rides stopping by, and in the second you’ll see a visit from the one, the only, 1PUGLIFE.

Today we’re working on a 2016 Ford F-150 XLT. But not just any Ford F-150. We’re working on MY Ford F-150.
What are we doing with it?

It’s a base model truck with the plain old 3 inch factory screen inside, and it’s time to give this bad boy an upgrade. I’ve been spending so much time upgrading everyone else’s car electronics that I haven’t had time to upgrade my own!

We’re dealing with a new product from Axxess Interface, the AX-DSP digital signal processor. We’re installing it alongside a plug-n-play harness.

Check out the video below, and we’ll walk you through the install.

1957 Ford Fairlane Skyliner Gateway Classic Cars #1313
For sale in our Chicago showroom is this very well preserved 1957 Ford Fairlane Skyliner. For any unfamiliar, the Skyliner nameplate refers to a power retractable hard top found on specific Ford models from 1957-1959. This Skyliner is powered by the original 312 cubic inch V8, believed to have just under 30,000 original miles! With a quick turn of the key, the Ford V8 fires right to life with a smooth purr and clean idle. The paint, interior, and glass all appear to be exactly as Ford installed them all those years ago, and have held up fantastic over the years. Adjust the seat slider to just the right spot for cruising, lower the hard top, and rule the road with this beautiful example of American ingenuity at its finest.
The Skyliner is the epitome of the American car; a large, V8, rear wheel drive convertible. What’s not to love?
